Giving someone your full attention means making their well-being your concern, a selfless act of caring- I reorient my attention away from myself and towards them.
Today’s "attention economy," commodifies and fragments our focus, it pulls us away from deep engagement with another.
Attention thus becomes a radical act of presence in an age of distraction. It is a state that does not entail a particular action or use of our will-power. Instead, it suggests a form of receptivity, a form of open curiosity that is nonjudgmental of ourselves and of others.
We will use the 5Rhythms® Movement Practice to explore this receptive way of being and to value our true attention as an act of generosity.
